Hello and WELCOME to all NS 18+ High Performance athletes!
We wish to introduce you to the new RNS 18+ HP program for 2024-2025. This season we will be launching a new approach to 18+ for the road to Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships.
RNS welcomes Jody Trethewey and Scott MacDonald to lead the RNS 18+ program for this season.
RNS understands 18+ athletes have many competing priorities. Many of you will already be playing for club teams, University, or 18+ Competitive teams, and some of you live remote to Halifax.
With this in mind, we are going to mimic the Ringette Canada Excellence model and host a broader training group who will meet for on-ice training together 1-2 times per month for the season. We expect Saturday and early Sunday ice to allow athletes from away to make it home to participate and as well to avoid conflicts with club teams.
The program has 3 main competition goals for the season:
1. Pierrefonds Tournament Jan 2-5, 2025 (Montreal, QC)
2. Atlantics Championships Feb 13-16, 2025 (Shediac/Memramcook, NB)
3. Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships April 17-20, 2025 (Montreal, QC)
All travel teams will be selected from the training group. There will be an expected attendance at group training to be considered for tournament teams, and team training (for selected athletes) will occur before each tournament.
Registration is now open in RAMP: https://www.rampregistrations.com/login?v3=83cf638a.
Costs will be kept as low as possible, with a training group cost separate from each tournament. We expect training group costs to be ~$300/athlete for the season depending on registrations.
We welcome you to register and help us rebuild RNS 18+ High Performance.
