The Ringette NS 18+ Excellence Program is intended for two groups of athletes:
- former A, AA and AAA athletes who want to continue training and competing on the pathway towards entry to high performance Ringette (e. the National Ringette League), AND
- former A, AA and AAA athletes who want to participate in a competitive game environment without the extra training component.
Program Overview
The 18+ Program will run in two separate blocks: October-December (Fall Session) and January-April (Winter Session).
Block 1: Fall Session (October - December)
The Fall Session will consist primarily of games in the University League, as well as some optional training opportunities for those who are interested.
Block 2: Winter Session (January - April 2023)
During the Winter Session, athletes will continue to play games in the University League (schedule TBD), and athletes interested in training will have the opportunity to do so.
The latter part of the season will incorporate an additional training component as athletes prepare for the Atlantic Ringette Championships (PEI January 27-29, 2023) and the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships (NB April 20-23, 2023). There may also be an opportunity for inter-provincial play against teams from NB and PEI. Although training sessions continue to be optional, athletes interested in attending inter-provincial events, Atlantics and/or ECRCs will be expected to attend at least 1 training session during the 4 weeks prior to these competitions in order to be assessed for team placement.
